Depending on interest and abilities, projects may include:
- managing communications with audience members, artists, and sponsors
- internet and in-person networking and outreach
- grassroots organizing
- website maintenance
- fund raising events
- booking touring engagements
- tour management
- house management or technical responsibilities at shows
- graphic design
- creating promotional materials
- writing blog entries and monthly newsletters
The ideal candidate has experience in the performing arts, arts management, community organizing and/or activism and is comfortable with queer communities.
This is an unpaid position, but college credit is available. You do not have to be a student. We can offer access to shows, possible travel, and the chance to meet and hang out with movers and shakers in the queer arts scene as well as recommendations. Positions are available year-round. Send cover letter and resume, or an informal list of relevant experience, to maggie at thefemmeshow dot com. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.
The Femme Show accepts submissions on an ongoing basis. We like any kind of act that is 1. doesn’t involve fire, rigging, or animals; 2. less than 10 minutes; and 3. says something interesting about femininity! Our performers include many sexes and genders, including folks who don’t id as femme. Send us an email and tell us who you are and what you want to do in the Femme Show! the femme show at gmail.com
Our sponsor offerings are designed to help our partners better engage their audiences and customers via on-stage visibility for your logo, program ads, and social media.
We are expecting close to 400 folks of all stripes and we are thrilled to give you an opportunity to market your business or organization to a captive audience. We have a fan base of fashion forward folks, Boston, JP & Cambridge residents, fans of the arts, and supporters of local business. We’d love to barter with you if you have a service we might need, but we also take checks, cash and paypal.
