The Femmepire is back in Massachusetts and our other respective homes!

Before out last show, we had a final check in meeting,  fueled with dripping molten lava nutella crepes. I think we were all a little overcome by what this trip meant to us and to our audiences. It means so much to connect with people and be a part of queer and femme community in so many cities.  I don’t think we can take credit for building femme community or starting discussions in a place where we just spend one night a year. But I hope we are augmenting what’s already happening. We believe in what we do and we are so proud and grateful to get to share it night after night.  And I am proud of how this little show has grown from its humble beginnings in a church basement!

Here we are outside of The Wind Up Space where we had our last show! The Wind Up was terrific! I don’t think I’ve ever performed in a bar that was so supportive of its artists. And Betsy Murbins, Roma Mafia and Femme6 really brought it as our guest artists.

by the end of the tour we had run out of camera batteries, hummus and gold glitter. time to head home.

We had so much fun in Philadelphia! Big shout outs to the Lesbian Dorkestra, Colleen and Lia for their repeat offender merch selling status, the Liberty City Kings and everyone else who came out to see us twice (!) Giovanni’s Room, Studio 34 and Meil Rose. It was great to play a raucous show with the Dorkestra Wednesday night and then follow it up with a very intimate show at Giovanni’s Room.
