August Recap, Part 2: Philadelphia and Baltimore
This year’s mini tour was off to a great start when we left Somerville almost on schedule in our big old SUV with the fifth box on top. We had a tasty, healthy, culturally appropriative lunch in Nyack, and then there was traffic. All the way to Philadelphia, an hour and a half late. Thank goodness the folks at the Rotunda were chill and helpful.
On this trip:
1. Maggie made peace with the GPS.
2. We had birthday peach pie made by some Amish.
3. We ate yellow watermelon.
4. We learned that Ace of Cakes will not let just anyone in.
5. Maggie finished a pair of socks while trying not to freak out about being late.
Photos and more…..
Dave End and Alana got cozy for the camera. Alana was the most gorgeous stagehand ever and we are excited for her to perform in the new show! Dave is so glitter and has a great story about riding the subway in MAC in San Fran.
Rachel: I see an ipod and a journal. Must be some hippy centering going on. Johnny: I’m just going to listen to some backstreet boys.
Post-show dinner in a basement somewhere. Thanks to Colleen, Winnie, Lia and Kenny for hosting us!
In the morning we had an amazing breakfast at Morning Glory and made a quick farmer’s market stop for watermelon and Alicia’s birthday pie. Our next stop was Ace of Cakes in Baltimore, but you can’t go in unless you are spending a zillion dollars on a cake. Plus apparently they don’t believe in cupcakes! How femmephobic of them. Instead we visited the Baltimore suburbs and swam at Colleen’s parent’s house. Then we were off to the Lo/fT, which is amazing! I got to ride in a freight elevator.

High Priestess of the guitar and cello and Ms. Greene
These Queerleaders had great cheers AND one of them did an excellent toe-touch. Your friendly local ballet teacher was impressed.
Rest In Peace, third box. The crushed one got left behind in Baltimore.
Kate McDonough, who makes awesome films when she’s not busy being gay for god, came to see the show! Femme Show Version 1.0 reunion.
