I’ve written before about how I adore what I lovingly call my little picture book femmes. I have a special place in my heart for children’s books in general but those that feature precocious little girls who misbehave and display random and excessive displays of non-normative femininity are especially of interest to me. And when I say of interest, I mean that I have a shelf of their books, read them often, decorate my office with them, and plan to tattoo them on my body

Call for performers: The Femme Show
The Femme Show is currently accepting submissions for our Touring Company and our 2009 Boston Show, taking place October 2 and 3. The deadline for submissions for the Boston show is July 1.
The Femme Show is seeking proposals for performances in all genres. Film, performance art, dance, video, spoken word, literary readings, short plays, and other disciplines are all welcome. All work should directly address femme identity, femme experience, and/or queer femininity. The Femme Show welcomes work from all kinds of femmes and from people of all genders and identities who find those topics interesting. In other words: You don’t have to be femme, female, woman or lesbian id’d to participate.

I always mean to write a blog about the high femme who I share my life with. Sierra the high femme of all high femmes. She is convinced that she should be the only one to get attention from Kestryl, that she was in hir life first, and that all of us should worship her at all times.
