Portland!

The Femme Show loves Portland and I’m pretty sure it’s not unrequited.

We had a small company coming from Boston, and some folks went up early to enjoy “vacationland.” So Havalah , my GF and me were the only ones driving up on Saturday, singing Ani all the way. We got stuck in New Hampshire toll/beach traffic and I yelled at all the other cars for not having ez pass.
We arrived just in time for my pre-tech meetings. The St. Lawerence is lovely.

You can see the ocean from the street outside the theater:

Thanks to Anna, Simon, Charley, and two boxes of coffee, we manged to tech in under two hours, and that included setting up a giant bonnet.

It’s not the Femme Show until everyone, including a slightly reluctant producer, gets glittered.
We had full, (not quite sold out) houses. They were great audiences, responsive and warm. I loved sitting backstage and listening to “Femmes Are…” by Amy Rain, Renee Castonguay and Lyndon Cudlitz.

I wish I had pictures of Caribeth AKA Goldie Peacock in her “Be(e) in my Bonnet” sculpture but here you can get a taste of the amazing.
Alicia Greene blew us all away backstage, and I think she had the same effect on the audience. Alicia is from Boston but this was her first performance with us.

Me and Havalah ready for “No Femmes Allowed.” It’s the year anniversary of our friendship! Please send paper goods and year-old wedding cake.

After party! North Star is so cool! They are queer owned, and they have healthy food AND beer
On Sunday, after a delicious breakfast , the GF and I picked up Havalah and on the way home we guerilla queered the beach in Kennebunc, across the harbor from the Bush family compound.
