I have a new project, that overlaps with the Femme Show, called the Society for the Preservation and Promotion of Sapphic Social Mores, also known as SPPSSM. Phyllis and Beatrice are two lovely ladies who want to help sapphists (their word for queers) deal with ettiquette conundrums including grooming and attire, courtship, sex, gender fobiles, and all the tangled, mixed up situations modern queers get into.
SPPSSM will be making appearances at some upcoming femme shows, but THIS WEEKEND you can find us mingling and giving advice at Sunday’s pride after party. See you there!

I’m a big fan of quotes, I jot them down on slips of paper, post them in my online journal, and in general just like to look at them, especially those that touch me deeply and feel like food for my soul. this is one of those quotes. I discovered it again this week, and found myself emailing it off to a very dear femme friend who i thought might be touched by it, and now i’d like to share it with all my readers here:
“Femme girls dance on razer’s everyday of their lives, and some days it’s only bravado that keeps us upright”

If you know me in real life you know that The Purse Issue is a big deal for me. I talk about it so much it’s become a joke. I even talked about it in my first blog post ever about why I started the show (sigh!) over at queertoday.
So I was amused when I saw this:
