Why my feet hurt*
On Thursday the lovely folks at Emerson College and Emerson’s Alliance for Gay Lesbians and Everyone (aka EAGLE) hosted our first ever college show!
I decided to take pictures of my feet as they went through various stages of footwear and foot care in the show. I forgot to include my street shoes before and afterwards, just imagine knee-high boots at the beginning and end of this sequence.

warming up: 2 pointe shoes

warming up: down booties

Split personality: 1 pointe shoe, one vegan purple Doc Marten

Small Stone (new modern dance piece): black ballet shoes and back seam stockings

Yoga toes!

The Society for the Preservation and Promotion of Sapphic Social Mores ( a new project you’ll be hearing more about soon) Featuring Rachel, former stagehand and current performer.
We also did No Femmes Allowed (AKA The One Where Havalah Takes My Clothes Off) but I don’t have a separate picture for that because I wore the same shoes. They’re a trusty target staple, good for salsa dancing, performing, and everything else.
*Ok, this isn’t the only reason my feet hurt. After all, it’s Monday, Thursday was a long time ago. I like to pretend that I’m a good blogger, giving you up to the minute reports on all things Femme and Femme Show, but we all know I’m not. But after the Femme Show on Thursday, I took ballet class, taught 4 ballet classes, and practiced tap dancing on Friday, then Saturday I taught some more, then yesterday I tap danced at Traniwreck. So, legitimately, my feet still hurt.
